Where are you located?
We are nestled in the peaceful countryside at 6670 Red House Road, Appomattox, VA, just 6 minutes from downtown.
What are your hours of operation?
We are open Thursday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and on Sundays from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
What should we wear or bring?
Highly encourage close-toed shoes! We recommend comfy outdoor clothes, sunscreen, and hats for a full day of farm fun. Personal chairs and coolers welcome!
What is your weather and rain policy?
We stay open for light rain, but severe weather closes the field. Although we don't issue a refund for rain, you can easily reschedule your day pass by emailing Meleprice1@gmail.com. Check for closures and rain updates on our Facebook page.
Is there parking available?
Yes, we offer free on-site parking. However, passes must be reserved online in advance due to limited space. Ps. This is a rural farm. Although we do have gravel for parking, it could be muddy, wet, and unlevel ground.
Are there restrooms and facilities?
Clean and accessible porta potty facilities are located near the main Kid Zone and entrance for your family's convenience. Remember how we love our free-range kiddos? We don't fret if they choose a tree!
Is the farm stroller and wheelchair friendly?
While most trails are grass or gravel, the main play areas are fully accessible for strollers. Wheelchair use would have to be at your discretion due to unlevel ground.
Is outside food allowed?
Absolutely! We have lovely shady picnic areas for your use. We also suggest trying our homegrown wayside stand treats!
Booking & Pricing
Can we buy Day Passes at the gate?
To keep our parking area safe and stress-free for families, all Day Passes must be reserved online before your visit. We cannot accommodate walk-ins at this time.
Do you offer memberships for frequent visitors?
Yes! We love our Frequent Farm Friends and offer local family memberships starting at $30 and $50 per month for year-round play and exclusive farm stand discounts. We have JUST Hiking memberships available for $10, too!
How do I book a birthday party or group rental?
We would love to host you! Simply fill out our online inquiry form, and our team will help you secure a spot in our Party Barn or one of our scenic creek-side spaces.
How exactly do I book my farm visit online?
It's simple! Just head to our "Book Your Visit" section, pick your preferred date and time, and your pass will be sent straight to your email in seconds.
What payment methods can I use?
We accept all major credit cards and secure digital payments through our website. To keep check-in fast, we use a cashless system for all pre-booked passes.
What happens if we need to reschedule?
Life with kids is unpredictable! You can easily reschedule your visit to another available date by emailing our staff at meleprice1@gmail.com
Do you offer refunds for cancelled bookings?
While all passes are non-refundable, they are fully transferable to future dates. This helps us manage farm capacity so every family has the best experience possible.

What age ranges are the farm activities suitable for?
Our farm is designed for families with children of all ages! The Kid Zone is specifically geared toward toddlers and elementary-aged kids, while our hiking trails and creek-side play are perfect for the whole family.
Do children require constant adult supervision?
Yes, for safety and maximum fun, all children must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult at all times while exploring the farm, playing in the Kid Zone, and especially near the water or creek-side obstacle courses.
What safety measures are in place around animals and water?
We prioritize safety at Whimsy Pines Farm! Our babbling creek is naturally shallow for splashing, and we provide clear interaction guidelines for our farm animals. We ask all guests to treat our furry friends with gentleness.
What does your Kid Zone consist of?
We're always changing and expanding to best serve YOU! But so far, we have 2 bounce houses (obstacle course style), several slides in and out of the forest, creek-side obstacle courses, small petting animals, and a sandbox!
Do you host seasonal events throughout the year?
Absolutely! We love celebrating the magic of each season at the farm. Keep an eye on our website for announcements about spring garden blooms and fun events around the farm!
How do I arrange a group visit or school field trip?
